White Wedding April 1, 2023

Cherry Blossom Collection, Perennial Garden, and Garden Rotunda

The sun came through for these two!

This love story started off with a jump. When Cameron made the monumental move across the country to Oregon, it's almost as if it was all meant to find Reena. They were immediately inseparable and after only a year they knew that this was forever. Reena, apparently very eager, actually proposed to Cameron first because she don't wait around for no man and she knows what she wants. There was also a reverse proposal because Cameron had already planned on proposing also. So after a dual proposal it was clear these two were ready to tie the knot! They arranged for a beautiful family-centered wedding in Norfolk, where Cameron grew up and where his family was located.

Planning a wedding from across the country certainly has it's challenges, but these two are so easy going and almost singularly focused on the part where they get married that the rest of the details just weren't the priority. After one call with them, we knew that we would love to be a part of this wedding because of the love that was so obvious between Cameron & Reena. We turned out to be right and it was simply a breeze photographing the happy couple.

We had a high wind advisory the day before and the morning of was muggy, rainy, and all around unpleasant. As the Norfolk Botanical Gardens team set up the outdoor ceremony space, all of the weather just cleared up! The sun came out, winds died down into a cool breeze, we quickly had ideal-wedding weather.

With no first-look, Ashley took the bride and bridesmaids, and after I got the all-clear text I took the groom and groomsmen another direction for their individual and bridal party photos. Thankfully, there are so many different gardens and hidden pathways to get lost in at the Norfolk Botanical Garden that it's no problem keeping our groups separated and finding the perfect backdrop for individual photos.

After a heartfelt ceremony with great stories about the couple, Cameron & Reena were finally married and they just could not stop smiling even after it was obvious their faces hurt. After some lovely family photos in the Perennial Garden, we hopped on the golf cart with the Garden's coordinator. Thank goodness for her and the ride around the Gardens for our newlywed portraits!  We cruised around to all of our favorite spots and their love was so overflowing that photos were quick, easy, and so fun with the now married couple. Not to mention, we all got along great, which is imperative to capturing the couple naturally as they experience their genuine emotions after having just completed one of the most incredible tasks of their lives.

As they move into this next chapter together, we wish C+R all the best and are honored to be the ones that captured their beautiful day.

Love,
A&O
